Your mission
To support our vision to foster Trustworthy AI in Europe, we have established a Trustworthy AI Community. We are a community of AI governance, and technical experts who have effective relationships with our partners and work on various dimensions of TWAI, such as AI governance and AI Act compliance. The TWAI community empowers companies to operationalise TWAI as a competitive advantage to drive innovation and create trust on European AI.
As a MLOps Engineer Working Student, you will be part of the Trustworthy AI Community and support the team with the following tasks:
- Support the EU AI Act implementation through simplified processes. Apply the EU AI Act to AI use cases, and develop templates on cloud providers to support our partners to reduce time to compliance.
- Collaborate closely with your colleagues to translate AI Act relevant standards into actionable implementation strategies (blueprints) and support the simplification of the EU AI Act within companies infrastructure.
- Organise partner interaction formats:
- Facilitate working group sessions, roundtables, workshops, and training to address our partners’ challenges related to EU AI Act compliance.
- Address partners’ pain points and provide resources by understanding partners’ pain points and challenges and offering resources, best practices, and actionable guidance to alleviate these pain points.
- Collaborate on projects and ongoing activities that contribute to valuable offerings.
- Plan and host internal workshops across appliedAI teams for upskilling appliedAI colleagues and customers.
- Create and publish content on Trustworthy AI and the EU AI Act tailored to the needs of our industry partner network.
Your profile
We are looking for a Master’s student who is passionate about the technical implementation of Responsible AI. You will be part of a diverse and interdisciplinary team that works on various projects related to these topics. You can apply, if you can identify with the following skills and qualifications:
- Strong interest and curiosity in the sociotechnical and ethical implications of AI and how to shape its development and use for the public good.
- A STEM-Degree, preferably Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering discipline. Solid experience in Python.
- Experience in machine learning projects.
- A thorough understanding of program / software design and service or application development, as well as professional development workflows.
- Thorough understanding of essential statistics and machine learning concepts.
- Deep knowledge of one particular domain in ML / data science / statistics.
- Comfortable working in a team and collaborating with people from different backgrounds and disciplines;
- Basic knowledge on EU AI Act and interest in industry standards and best-practices;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, in English;
- User-centricity, co-creative mindset and ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a dynamic environment;
