Deine Aufgaben
Als Generative AI Engineer (m/f/x) arbeitest du an der Schnittstelle von KI-Forschung und Softwareentwicklung. Du setzt dein Fachwissen in den Bereichen Generative KI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Deep Learning und Agentensysteme ein, um innovative KI-Anwendungen zu entwickeln. Deine Leidenschaft ist es, Fortschritte in der KI in praxisnahe Lösungen zu überführen, die Innovationen in verschiedensten Branchen vorantreiben. Im AI Engineering Team von appliedAI arbeitest du gemeinsam mit KI-Expert:innen, KI-Strateg:innen und externen Partner:innen daran, wirkungsstarke Prototypen und produktionsreife KI-Lösungen zu schaffen, die echten Mehrwert bieten.

  • Strategischer Einsatz von Generativer KI und Multi-Agenten-Systemen zur Lösung komplexer geschäftlicher Herausforderungen und zur Beschleunigung der KI-Adoption in unterschiedlichen Branchen
  • Verantwortung für die Konzeption und Implementierung von RAG-Lösungen, agentenbasierten Workflows und Multi-Agenten-Systemen, die auf spezifische Kundenbedürfnisse zugeschnitten sind
  • Einhaltung höchster technischer Standards und aktive Mitwirkung an der gemeinsamen Technologieentwicklung innerhalb von appliedAI sowie im gesamten appliedAI Partner-Ökosystem
  • Überbrückung der Lücke zwischen KI-Forschung und Softwareentwicklung, um ein robustes, skalierbares und effizientes Design von KI-Systemen sicherzustellen
  • Führende Rolle bei der Nutzung neuester KI-Technologien, wie der Implementierung und Optimierung von LLMs, um Kund:innen einen nachhaltigen Mehrwert zu bieten
Dein Profil
  • Fundierte Kenntnisse in Machine Learning, Deep Learning und generativen KI-Technologien sowie ein starker akademischer Hintergrund in Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematik, Physik oder einem vergleichbaren Bereich
  • Mindestens 2 Jahre Erfahrung in einer vergleichbaren technischen Rolle, in der Softwareentwicklung oder einem verwandten Bereich, mit sehr guten Kenntnissen in Python und GenAI-spezifischen Frameworks wie LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, Azure AI Foundry, Computer Use o.ä.
  • Sehr gutes Verständnis von Transformer-Architekturen, Embedding-Modellen und Prompt Engineering-Techniken wie Chain of Thoughts sowie erste praktische Erfahrung mit AI-Agenten-Frameworks
  • Erfahrung mit DevOps- und MLOps-Praktiken, einschließlich Containerisierung, CI/CD und Automatisierung von LLM-Deployments und Optimierungstechniken, sowie Erfahrung mit Cloud-Plattformen wie Microsoft Azure, AWS oder GCP
  • Ausgeprägte Problemlösungs-, Analyse- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten sowie die Fähigkeit, effektiv im Team und mit externen Partner:innen zusammenzuarbeiten
  • Begeisterung für kontinuierliches Lernen, Innovation und die Mitarbeit in leistungsstarken Teams
  • Erfahrung und Projekterfahrung mit Vision Language Models (VLM) und Open-Source SLMs sind von Vorteil
  • Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse werden vorausgesetzt

Your mission
As a Generative AI Engineer, you operate at the intersection of AI research and software engineering, applying your expertise in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Deep Learning, and Agent Systems to develop cutting-edge AI applications. You are passionate about transforming AI advancements into real-world solutions that drive business innovation across industries. As part of the AI Engineering team at appliedAI, you will collaborate with AI experts, AI strategists and external partners to create high-impact, cutting-edge prototypes and production-ready AI solutions that drive meaningful innovation. 

  • You focus on strategically applying Generative AI and multi-agent systems to solve complex business challenges, accelerating AI adoption across industries
  • Responsibility for designing and implementing RAG solutions, agentic workflows, and multi-agent systems tailored to specific customer needs
  • Maintaining the highest engineering standards, you contribute to collaborative technology development within appliedAI and across the appliedAI Partner ecosystem
  • Bridging the gap between AI research and software engineering, ensuring robust, scalable, and efficient AI system design
  • Taking a leading role in leveraging advancements in AI technologies, such as LLM deployments and optimization techniques, to drive customer value
Your profile
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI techniques with a solid academic background in Data Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Physics, or similar
  • At least 2 years of experience in a comparable engineering role, Software Development, or a related field, with proficiency in Python and GenAI-specific frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, Azure AI Foundry, Computer Use etc. 
  • Solid understanding of Transformer architectures, embedding models, and Prompt Engineering techniques such as chain of thoughts, along with initial experience in AI Agent frameworks 
  • Familiarity with DevOps and MLOps practices, including containerization, CI/CD, and automation of LLM deployments and optimization techniques as well as knowledge of using cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and external partners
  • Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and contributing to high-performing teams
  • Expertise and Project Experience with Vision Language Model (VLM) and Opensource SLMs is a plus
  • Fluent German and English is required
