Deine Aufgaben
We are looking for a (Junior) Technical Security & Automation Engineer (m/f/x) to strengthen our appliedAI team. Our mission is to advance Europe’s industry to compete in the age of AI — and to do that, we need secure, reliable, and automated internal systems. 
You will be responsible for implementing technical information security measures and developing automations that make our internal operations more efficient and secure. Working closely with IT, AI engineering, and process management teams, you’ll help ensure our infrastructure and processes follow best practices in security and reliability. 
This position is ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity or DevOps journey who enjoys hands-on technical work, building systems, and continuously improving how things run. 
 
 
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
  • Implementing and maintaining technical information security measures, such as access control, logging, and vulnerability management systems
  • Supporting the rollout and configuration of security monitoring tools, automated alerts, and incident reporting workflows
  • Assisting with the implementation of process automations (e.g., scripting, integrations, CI/CD improvements) to streamline operations in appliedAI
  • Working with IT and AI teams to secure development and deployment environments, including internal services and cloud infrastructure
  • Contributing to documentation and internal guidelines related to security operations and automated workflows
  • Supporting internal processes for ISO27001 audits and continuous improvement, including implementing required technical controls
  • Participating in internal training and awareness activities to help improve security culture
Dein Profil
  • You have a bachelor's degree in IT, information security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • You have hands-on experience with system administration, IT security tools, or automation (internships, university projects, or entry-level jobs all count)
  • Basic understanding of network security, access management and monitoring systems
  • You enjoy building and automating processes using scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • You are curious about DevSecOps, automation and how to bring security into everyday workflows
  • You can work independently, document your work clearly, and collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Advantageous, but not required:
    • Familiarity with ISO 27001 or other security frameworks
    • Experience with tools like SIEM systems, GitHub Actions, or cloud security setups
    • Conversational German (B1–B2)
